Of the four stories in this book, RIDE OF THE LATE RAIN reaches an actual ending of sorts. PANDORA'S MEMORIES and AFTER THE SCYTHE just stop, though the later was intriguing enough that I plan to read the first book in the series. FENRIR REBORN stops with the main issue unresolved. All four can be considered more as introductions to larger works than actual short stories.🔚Some will of course like the type of story which is FENRIR REBORN. I don't. If I wanted to read drawn out sexual scenes, I would find a book of erotica. I do not want them cluttering up a fantasy adventure story. Such a story with romantic attachments is fine, but suggestion is better than detail which only makes the story drag.
🔚I have previously reviewed PANDORA'S MEMORIES in its separate edition. I found it to be a confusing story made worse by editing problems. I would skip it and go straight to ACTS OF WAR which even though labeled as book two, is, in my opitnion, the logical place to start. The remaining two stories have interesting scenarios and characters. Except for PANDORA'S MEMORIES which is a weak introduction to the book which follows, reading this collection should help you decide if you want to read the novels.
